Whisper Rock

Whisper Rock Estates offers residents one of the most rewarding private-golf lifestyles in Arizona. Located on nearly 800 acres of exceptional Sonoran Desert in North Scottsdale, options abound. From custom homes on spacious lots to villas that can serve as turn-key vacation homes, Whisper Rock’s diversity of luxury estates is designed to suit an array of sensibilities.

Real Estate

Although the styles vary, the architecture and feel of the Spanish/Southwestern-inspired homes are consistent throughout the community to provide an overall motif that complements the rich traditions of the area. The natural setting features ancient rock formations that have become the community’s namesake, incredible mountain views and some of the most picturesque and thriving Sonoran Desert in Arizona. Giant Saguaros dot the lush landscape along with native trees such as the Palo Verde and Mesquite.

Golf

Whisper Rock Golf Club sits at the heart of the community; however, membership is not tied to property ownership. The golf clubs is non-equity, invitation-only and developed independently from the real estate. Whisper Rock Golf Club features two of the best 18-hole golf courses in Arizona – the Upper and Lower. As such, membership demand is high with a limit set at just under 300 members. This, and many other reasons, allows members to maximize their enjoyment on, and off, the golf course. Professional golfer and former Sun Devil, Phil Mickelson, collaborated with architect, Gary Stephenson, to create the Lower Course, which debuted in 2001. This marked Mickelson’s first golf course design project. In 2005, famed designer, Tom Fazio, put the finishing touches on the Upper Course. Although both golf courses are defined by the lush desert that surrounds them, the shot values and diversity of challenge baked into the each design gives one a feeling of never playing the same hole twice. Given the unusually low average handicap of the membership, Whisper Rock Golf Club attracts accomplished players like bees to honey with a dozen or so tour players calling it home.

Amenities

Much more than a golf community, Whisper Rock also features a 2,500-square-foot recreation facility decked out with the latest fitness equipment, pool, spa and indoor/outdoor hospitality area complete with a huge party kitchen. There are also green parkland areas with tennis and basketball courts.

Schools

Cave Creek Unified School System serves the Whisper Rock community with most students attending Cactus Shadows High School, Sonoran Trails Middle School and Lone Mountain Elementary.
